Project Background
AEC was appointed to refurbish the college’s Animal Care facilities following the findings of a condition report survey. The project included the replacement of external cladding, alongside major upgrades to outdated mechanical and electrical systems. Internally, the areas were fully renewed, with new doors, walls, ceilings, and flooring throughout.
A new sheltered animal training area was also constructed, replacing temporary structures and significantly enhancing the available space. These improvements have provided the specialist facilities required to support the delivery of T Level courses.
Delivered in line with the Output Specification, the project incorporated sustainable construction methods to reduce carbon impact and improve energy performance. All works were completed to meet Building Bulletin guidance and full DDA compliance, ensuring a modern, accessible learning environment for students and staff.
