Having started his professional career in 2008, Lewis is an experienced Senior Building Surveyor and Project Manager. In this time, he has primarily completed work for building consultancies and offered professional services to the education sector, giving him a firm understanding of the requirements affecting this industry. Since 2013, Lewis has spearheaded numerous funding opportunities for schools, academies, MATs and more across the UK, securing and delivering over £100m for clients during his career to date.

Adam began his surveying career within the education sector in 1997, becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2005. In this time he has acquired a wealth of knowledge in the education, healthcare and commercial sectors, including a senior role providing estates support for a London NHS Trust, managing various premises across multiple sites. Adam’s focus has now shifted to education, providing his clients with core building surveying advice on the condition of premises, their maintenance needs and proposed capital expenditure. His strong project management skills play a key role in turning this guidance into successful developments.

Mark leads the designated funding team, which has been established to exclusively assist academies, schools, colleges, sixth forms and universities secure the capital funding required to improve and transform estates and facilities. With several years of bidding experience, Mark and the team have secured in excess of £150m for academic establishments, across a variety of funding streams, which includes - Condition Improvement Fund (CIF), Urgent Capital Support (UCS), Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), T Level Capital Funding (TLCF), Further Education Capital Transformation Fund (FECTF) and the Post-16 Capacity Fund. Mark’s extensive knowledge of the available funding streams, proactive support and advice, coupled with a degree writing background, ensures bid applications are meticulously prepared and submitted to maximise the chances of securing funding.

Ryan leads and oversees the Projects and Surveying team, providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and governance to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services across the business. He provides strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects, acting as Employer’s Agent and Contract Administrator from inception through to completion. Ryan is adept at managing complex, multi-disciplinary teams and environments, combining technical expertise with a clear focus on delivering successful, value-driven outcomes for clients. Alongside his project delivery responsibilities, Ryan brings in-depth expertise in core building surveying services, including defect analysis, planned maintenance programmes, schedules of condition, and the management of refurbishment and reactive works. He is recognised for delivering pragmatic, considered advice and for upholding the highest professional standards across all aspects of project, surveying, and estate management services.

Nick joined the AEC team in January 2022 coming from a career in education and management as well as directing his own businesses. Nick’s career in education began in 2007 and he has since worked for a number of schools, sixth forms and trusts over a 14 year career. With his extensive experience of management and educational practice, Nick is able to advise clients of specialist solutions which best suit teaching and learning as well as a client’s curriculum. Within AEC, Nick focuses on business efficiency, management systems, marketing, contracts/policies, staff recruitment and training as well as business development opportunities.

Barry is a Chartered Surveyor who joined AEC in May 2021, bringing with him extensive experience in the private sector - acting as Project Manager, Employers Agent and Contract Administrator on numerous schemes across London and the surrounding areas.  During his career, Barry has managed development schemes involving residential, commercial, retail and industrial and has extensive experience with refurbishment and adaptation schemes. Barry brings over 20 years of experience in construction and surveying to our project management team where he is focussing on education, providing clients with expert advice and ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest standards and professionalism.

Peter completed his masters degree in 2000 and is a Senior Building Surveyor here at AEC. Peter specialises in design, project management and contract administration of refurbishment and new-build schemes for public sector, education, commercial and private clients. Peter has specific expertise in securing funding and the delivery of education projects as well as key skills in building pathology and feasibility report writing. Peter, is now focusing on his APC towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor.

Hollie joins AEC with 5 years’ experience in HR and Administration having achieved a CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resources Management. Her experience is in Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Office Management, Compliance, & Leadership, with a drive to learn, support, and empower others. Being part of the Business Support Team, Hollie’s goal is to support Employee Development, advocate Company Values, and drive Organisational Objectives.

Having started her professional career in 2014, Marlene is a qualified, experienced RIBA Architect and Interior Designer. Having delivered countless bespoke, high-end residential and commercial projects domestically and overseas, Marlene has joined AEC as a Project Manager. Marlene offers a wealth of transferable skills as an addition to AEC, specialising in contract administration, procurement and delivery of projects within the education sector. Marlene focuses on bringing a project to life, ensuring clients get the most out of the process from inception to handover and provides a keen eye for detail whilst ensuring clients needs, professionalism and expectations are met.
