Project Background
AEC were appointed to act on behalf of the client to design and specify a comprehensive programme of electrical and fire safety improvements across the school. The scheme included the complete replacement of a non-compliant fire alarm system, upgrades to fire doors, and renewal of ageing electrical wiring dating back more than 30 years. Emergency lighting and compliant fire exit signage were also installed throughout the building.
A Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bid was successfully secured through our Funding Services team, enabling these essential works to be delivered in a timely manner. Careful planning ensured minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the school during installation.
The project was completed on time and within budget, providing the client with modern, compliant, and resilient electrical and fire safety systems to support a safe learning environment.
30+ Year Old Electrical Infrastructure
The project included the replacement of ageing electrical cabling, much of which dated back more than 30 years. These upgrades were essential to improve safety, compliance, and long-term system reliability across the school.
Upgraded Fire Door Installations
As part of the wider fire safety improvements, new compliant fire doors were installed throughout the building. These enhancements strengthen compartmentation and provide improved protection for pupils, staff, and visitors.
