Project Background
AEC was appointed to act on behalf of the client to design and specify a comprehensive programme of fire safety and electrical improvements across the school. The scheme included the complete replacement of a non-compliant fire alarm system, defective lighting, and fire doors that no longer met current standards. Ageing electrical wiring, dating back more than 60 years, was also renewed as part of the works.
In addition, emergency lighting and illuminated fire exit signage were installed throughout the building to support safe evacuation. The design also incorporated improvements to compartmentation, enhancing overall fire safety and resilience across the site.
The completed upgrades have provided the school with modern, compliant systems and significantly improved safety for pupils, staff, and visitors.
