Project Background
AEC successfully delivered a complex extension to the existing gymnasium block, creating a modern, fully compliant dance studio alongside an enlarged gymnasium. The new studio was formed through the sensitive infilling of the change in elevations at first-floor level, resulting in a seamless and visually impressive addition to the school’s facilities.
The project required careful coordination of key design considerations, including safe access and escape, acoustics, and ventilation, ensuring the space meets both regulatory requirements and the needs of students and staff.
The school now benefits from a state-of-the-art dance studio and expanded gym, with direct access to existing changing facilities, providing an enhanced environment for sport, fitness, and performance.
