Project Background
AEC was appointed to design and specify a comprehensive programme of fire safety improvement works at this primary school, ensuring full compliance and enhanced protection across the site.
The project included the installation of a modern, addressable fire detection and alarm system, providing reliable coverage and a serviceable lifespan of approximately 15 years. Emergency escape routes were upgraded with compliant lighting and clearly signed evacuation guidance, including illuminated fire exit signage installed throughout the building.
In addition, the school’s electrical installation was fully replaced, as the existing wiring was more than 30 years old. All systems were upgraded to meet current British Standards, delivering a safe, modern, and resilient infrastructure to support the day-to-day operation of the school.
New Electrical Distribution Boards
Modern electrical distribution boards were installed as part of the wider infrastructure renewal. These upgrades support a safer, more resilient power system, ready to meet the school’s current and future operational demands.
Fire Alarm Cabling Installation
New fire alarm cabling was installed throughout the building, providing the backbone for a fully compliant, upgraded detection system. These works ensure improved reliability and enhanced life safety protection across the school.
