Project Background
AEC was initially appointed to assess the school’s outdated science classrooms and develop outline designs and budget costs to support the refurbishment and improvement of student learning facilities. The design stage included high-quality 3D visuals, giving the client clear insight into the proposed transformation prior to construction.
The scheme was subsequently developed through detailed design and tender, leading to the successful refurbishment and conversion of the existing classrooms into fully compliant wet science laboratories. Upgrades included fluid Category 5 water supply protection and automated safety cut-off devices for power, gas, and water, ensuring a safe and modern teaching environment.
The works were delivered ahead of programme and within the client’s approved budget, providing enhanced specialist facilities to support science education.
